  • cologne

  • deodorant
  • hairspray
  • body spray

How To Pack your Liquids, Aerosols and Gels

Containers of liquids, aerosols or gels in your carry-on must be 100 ml/100 grams (3.4 oz) or less. All containers must fit in 1 clear, closed, resealable plastic bag no more than 1 litre (1 quart) in capacity. The approximate dimensions of a one litre/quart bag are 15.24 cm by 22.86 cm (6 in. by 9 in.) or 20 cm by 17.5 cm (8 in. by 7 in.).

At the screening point, take your plastic bag out of your carry-on and place it in one of the provided trays. One bag is allowed per passenger.

Any containers over 100 ml should be placed in checked baggage.

Food

Food is not exempted from the above liquids, aerosols and gels restrictions. All liquid food in your carry-on (for example, yogurt, pudding, peanut butter or jam) must be in containers of 100 ml or less. All containers must fit in the same clear, closed, resealable 1 litre plastic bag, as all other containers of liquids, aerosols or gels you are carrying.

Drink or discard any beverages in containers over 100 ml before pre-board security screening. Solid food is permitted in both checked and carry-on baggage.

Exceptions for Liquids, Aerosols and Gels

The following are allowed in your carry-on without a bag and in containers over 100 ml:

  • If traveling with an infant under two years of age (0-24 months), baby food, milk, formula, water and juice in small containers for your itinerary. Gel or ice packs are also permitted.
  • Passengers flying with or without their child will be permitted to bring breast milk in quantities greater than 100 ml provided it is presented to the Screening Officer for inspection prior to screening. Gel or ice packs are also permitted.
  • Prescription and essential non-prescription medicines.
  • Gel and ice packs are exempt from the restrictions on liquids when required to treat an injury or when used to refrigerate baby food, milk, breast milk, formula, water and juice for infants under 2 years of age (0-24 months), medically necessary items and medication.

The above items, although allowed in your carry-on, are still subject to security screening. The items must be removed from carry-on baggage and placed directly into a bin at the entrance of the checkpoint, as additional screening may be required.

Documentation to support your medical needs or condition is not required; however, if you feel that it would help ease your screening, it should be presented to the screening officer along with your medically necessary items.
